Assistant Instructors

Curtis Russ started training in 1988 studying Yang style Tai-Chi Chuan under Brian Davis (a student under Master T. T. Leoung).  During this time Curtis also studied Praying Mantis Kung Fu, Shaolin Tiger style Kung Fu, and Lo-Han Kung Fu for 3 years.

Curtis joined Michael Graves Shuri-Te Karate School in 1999, studying under his top student Ralph Petrocelli.  In 2000 Curtis began studying with Coach Bruce Pahl in Jeet Kune Do Concepts/Filipino Kali (PFS) and was part of the inner circle training group. During this time Curtis also studied with one of Bruce Pahl’s former students, Dwayne Boone, for 8 years. Mr. Boone is a former Navy Seal and Certified Phase I Jeet Kune Do Concepts instructor (under Paul Vunak).  Curtis became a certified instructor in Mr. Boone’s Applied Seamless Flow Fighting System.   Curtis is currently a certified Black belt assistant instructor under Bruce Pahl in Jeet Kune Do Combatives at Delaware Combat University. To expand his knowledge Curtis is currently studying Wing Chung Kung Fu and Jeet Kune Do under Sifu Roosevelt Legette who is a student of Ron Balicki and Diana Inosanto.
